Photo: Facebook<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Federal Bureau of Investigation made a bombshell <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sandrarose.com\/2026\/03\/heartbroken-savannah-guthrie-visits-missing-moms-memorial\/\" target=\"_blank\">announcement<\/a><\/strong> about ransom notes received in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI said ransom notes sent to a news station and gossip website TMZ are fake.<\/p>\n<p>The 84-year-old mother of longtime &#8220;Today&#8221; show host, Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since January 31 and is presumed dead.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_CODE\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-CODE\" style=\"width: 745px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sandrarose.com\/images43\/savannah-nancy-745x745.jpg\" width=\"745\" height=\"745\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photo of Savannah and Nancy Guthrie\"\/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-CODE\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nancy Guthrie and Savannah Guthrie. Photo: Facebook<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Tucson TV station KOLD received two ransom notes soon after Guthrie was kidnapped from her home near Tucson, Arizona. One note demanded millions in Bitcoin in exchange for Guthrie&#8217;s return. Another note claimed she had died.<\/p>\n<p>A ransom note recently sent to TMZ claimed Nancy Guthrie was dead and that the sender knew the identity of the kidnapper.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;None of the ransom notes are believed to be genuine,&#8221; an FBI official told <em>Reuters<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, the FBI field office in Phoenix issued a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/FBIPhoenix\/status\/2072451468766941575\" target=\"_blank\">statement<\/a><\/strong> that read: &#8220;Some [notes] have been deemed to be extortion attempts without legitimacy. Other ransom demands may potentially be legitimate and are still being investigated as such.
